City of Denton and Local Nonprofits Provide Rent & Utility Assistance

Many in Denton are feeling the economic impact of COVID-19 with reduced hours or outright job loss. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs awarded The City of Denton a grant to "prevent, prepare, and respond to the needs of people experiencing or at risk of homelessness." The City continues to coordinate efforts with several nonprofit organizations, including; Christian Community Action; Giving HOPE, Inc.; Grace Like Rain; and The Salvation Army Denton.

These listed organizations are working on The City's behalf and are prepared to help individuals and families during these difficult times. The United Way of Denton County continues to provide guidance and administer financial assistance made available through the Denton County Commissioners Court.
